Founded in 1938, Peniel has a rich history of over 80 years in the beautiful foothills of the Adirondack mountains, nestled on the front side of Constitution Mountain and the back side of Lake Luzerne, 15 minutes southwest of Lake George, NY and an hour north of Albany, NY. Our 75 acre campus offers ministry to youths & families, through summer camp experiences, retreats, rentals, and special events for churches and groups. Peniel’s Mission for generations has been to teach biblical truths while connecting others with the transformational love of God.
Our summer camp program called Camp Encounter includes overnight programs for children 4th-12th grade. Campers participate in dozens of different group activities and games, learn new skills, and build lasting relationships, all while being challenged to grow in their faith by caring and trained staff and volunteers. Churches and other groups enjoy holding retreats and special events May through October. Perfectly suited to host small to medium sized groups, our retreat guests enjoy motel style and dormitory style lodging, meeting rooms & lounges with cozy fireplaces and seating, and great food from our commercial kitchen and "restaurant" dining room in addition to various outdoor recreational activities. We are also available for day events such as weddings, graduation parties, galas, family reunions and more!
